This recipe offers a simple and quick way to prepare fresh green beans. Sautéed with garlic, butter, and a hint of chili flakes, the beans are gently cooked until tender-crisp and glossy, making for a flavorful side dish that can be enjoyed on its own or with rice and noodles.

Instructions

  1. Add olive oil and butter to the pan. Let the butter melt on low heat.
  2. Add sliced garlic and chili flakes. Sauté gently for about 1 minute until fragrant and slightly golden.
  3. Add the washed and dried green beans. Stir to coat them well with the garlic butter.
  4. Sprinkle in salt and mix.
  5. Add a few tablespoons of water — just enough to lightly cover the bottom — then cover with a lid.
  6. Let it cook covered for 4–5 minutes, stirring once in between.
  7. Uncover and toss once more. The beans should look glossy, slightly wrinkled, and perfectly tender-crisp.
  8. Serve warm, garlicky, and buttery — ready to enjoy with rice, noodles, or just on their own!
