Here’s a complete from-scratch momo recipe with dough and a protein-rich tofu-paneer filling – plus a special pan-fried saucy twist that takes these momos to the next level! 🥟✨ Instead of steaming, the momos are cooked directly in a pan, then tossed in a spicy sesame-soy glaze for that street-food style flavor. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or a party favorite!
Instructions
- Mix flour with water gradually, knead into a smooth dough. Rest for 20–30 minutes.
- Mix all chopped onion, garlic, ginger, mushrooms & cabbage, then add grated or crumbled tofu, paneer toss in turmeric, cumin-coriander, salt. Mix well, add a little olive oil (optional).
- Roll small dough circles, add filling, fold into dumpling shapes.
- Place momos, add 1 tsp oil to the pan and cook one side until golden (2–3 mins). Flip, add 5-6 tbsp water, cover, and cook for 3-4 mins.
- Mix olive oil, soy sauce, ketchup, hot sauce, sesame seeds, and chili flakes and 2-3 tbsp water. Pour over momos, toss gently.
- Sprinkle spring onions and serve hot.
